Riverbed Rise: A New Partner Program for a New Era of Computing

Riverbed Rise is here!

You’ve never seen a partner program like this before—because there has never been a program like Riverbed Rise. We have built it from the ground up with crystal clear objectives: you must have the flexibility to determine how best to meet your customers’ needs, the program must be simple, and it must lead to increased profitability—for you and for Riverbed.

So how does Riverbed Rise go about meeting—and exceeding—these objectives?

It’s simple:
There are no competency requirements. It’s straightforward: you decide where you want to focus your resources. The path to earning dividends is clear and easy to understand. And your partner level and discounts are tied directly to dividends, eliminating complex compliance requirements.

It’s flexible:
You choose how you earn dividends, and how you exchange these into rewards. We recognize that different partners sell in different ways as they adapt to their customers’ preferred approach to consumption, so we reward multiple methods of delivery: software licensing, resale, Managed Services, or recurring revenue-based cloud services.

It’s profitable:
Our expanded portfolio offers opportunities for new conversations with customers about how you can solve their digital transformation needs. We reward both expansion of existing accounts and acquisition of new accounts. Dividends can be used to create immediate value via cash rebates (Premier and Elite only) or to create future value via business development and training.

How it works
We have established four achievements areas: New Customer Acquisition, Existing Customer Penetration, Selling as-a-Services, and Trained Resources. Sell into a new account? Earn Dividends. Expand an existing account? Earn Dividends. Sell Managed Services or Subscriptions? Earn Dividends. Gain Certifications and Accreditations? Earn Dividends.

Once a quarter, we convert your accumulated dividends into rewards: Cash Rebates and/or deposits into your Business Investment Fund for business development or training. And, once a quarter, you have the opportunity to rise to a new Partner Level based on the past four quarters dividend performance.

Simple, yes?

When will changes occur?
Riverbed Rise is effective on January 1, 2018. That’s when you begin to earn dividends based on your performance in the achievement areas. Please note that we will retain program level discounts under the previous program until January 31, 2018, at which time you will start to receive discounts under the new Riverbed Rise.

This also means that most existing programs and promotions are retired, including the competency-based Riverbed Performance Partner Program, the Path to Premier and Riverbed Launch (APJ) Programs, the ESS discount for new opportunities, the JEP discount, the Portfolio Rebate, ESS Rebate and SteelConnect Acceleration Promotion. These will all be covered by the new dividend-based rewards in Riverbed Rise.

You will remain at your current Partner Level until July 31, 2018. At that time, we will assign you a Riverbed Rise Level based on your dividend performance from July 1, 2017 until June 30, 2018.
